Probably the biggest and best collection of stone and rock textures on the planet, and with a bit of image editor manipulation they could be from another world, an essential terrain component for most outdoor environments.
These textures are mainly a collection of rural sample images taken from various locations around the U.K. The locations are at least a days trek in to the back of beyond from wherever, and usually found in dangerous hazardous environments. Over the years we have used and collected these textures ourselves for various visualisation projects, and have found them to be very flexible and re-usable images. we often found ourselves in the middle of tight deadlines needing only a few textures that ware always difficult and time consuming to source, as any 3D artist knows sourcing the right textures can be the most difficult and tedious task, and other times it can be, literally a piece of cake.
We realized that many artists and designers could benefit from having access to our textures, and as a result we decided to make them available for free on our site, we are constantly uploading and rotating the on-line content, so keep visiting us now and again to get some new samples and refresh your old collection, we also do requests so if you are having trouble sourcing a texture/s then use our contact page and let us know what you are looking for, maybe we can find something and upload it for you, we can even send out someone to photograph if we don't have an available archive. all though that wont be free, it could still save you time and the cost of sourcing them yourself.
all these on-line textures are high quality jpg's optimised by 60%, some are modified and colour corrected and some are not, most of the images are between 300kb and 2.0mb with most image sizes ranging 2168 X 1376 or less.
Many people find that they only need a hand full of textures for their project, and downloading them is the ideal solution. But many people also realize while browsing our texture pages that they can anticipate needing more of our texture genre to fulfil future projects but perhaps haven't got the time, or resources to download all of these textures, that's why we also provide these textures on CD/DVD for your convenience. The purchasable CD/DVD version contains more images than we host online and are of better quality because they are not compressed.
